To all my devoted and inspiring followers, your presence and kind words have challenged and changed my writing time and time again. I am so thankful for you all!

Home
It has been nearly two months since my last post, and I apologize… yet, I don’t. It seems I write more when I am less satisfied with my daily life. I am quicker to express my knowledge and wisdom learned through dissatisfaction. Yet, I learn just as much in my joy as I do in my pain.
I have been pushed and challenged and pulled and plucked over the last two months, but in the...

2011: The Guilt- Free Year
I’ve started this new thing in my life since 1/1/2011…
Its been around for a long time, but I’m always late on the up-take…
It’s called “Letting It Go”. Monumental.
Over the past few days, every time I catch myself getting worked up, shoulders tightening, stressed, upset, or feeling guilty about something I simply pause, let my shoulders relax, and...

Love this quote and love this lady who I reblogged from! I remember posting this well over a year ago. About half of it came true. Now on to the other half ;)
What a Difference a Year Makes
My Internet is down so I’m posting from my phone… I couldn’t wait a moment longer to give this post of gratitude for this closing year, and what’s yet to come.
My view right now is of a bedroom that is a sanctuary… In an apartment that is a sanctuary… In a city that has offered me a new kind of home.
I can remember all too vivid what my view was a year ago. ...

Merry Christmas To All!
“Christmas is not a time or a season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and good will, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. If we think on these things, there will be born in us a Savior and over us will shine a star sending its gleam of hope to the world.”
- Calvin Coolidge

Do things that make you nervous, make you scared; that is usually when the breakthroughs come.
If something isn’t right, isn’t working… try something new. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

To Give Thanks...
… Under all circumstances. This, I believe, is the missing link. I believe this is why we hold on to the holiday season in spite of elevating stress levels, diminishing bank accounts, recession, secularism, apathy, and a cynicism that seems to be trying to sneak its way into the American Way. There is a spirit around these couple of months that transcends all differences and beliefs. We...

I Am Here
This is a post to say that I am here. I haven’t gone anywhere. In recent posts I’ve replaced my personal voice with that of the quotes and phrases that could say it better than I could in those moments… but I’m still here behind it all.
I’ve changed locations. I’ve changed jobs. I’ve changed living arrangements. And I can whole-heartedly say it has...

May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others

Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth

Not quite here, not quite there
So I am on the move… again.
Today started with an AC falling out the window and smashing onto the concrete. Fantastic. No one was hurt, except my ego, and the part of me that likes to think Im tough enough to do everything on my own. Yet another comical story to tell the grandkids. Man, I need to write a book about this past year of my life in NYC.
I read an article this morning that...
A Glamorously Unglamorous Life
I first have to say that I am shocked and amazed at the sudden burst of new followers here on Tumblr. How cool! I can’t believe that so many of you find my words worth reading, and even more surprising (and humbling), that you would take the time to express gratitude for my little blog. Thank you!

Life is Happening
“Let life happen to you. Believe me, Life is in the right, always”
-Rainer Maria Rilke
Well life is certainly happening. Lots of changes, lots of excitment, ups and downs, surprises, laughter, tears, love, and confusion. Life is certainly happening.
It was about one year ago that I started this blog, a record of the adventures to come. That year marker seemed so far off at...

I am currently living out of a suitcase. My surroundings change wildly and drastically from day to day.
Two nights ago I slept in a Soho loft apt with a built-in stage, curtain and lights. This morning I woke up in my sweaty, dim, apartment in Brooklyn, arms dangling off the futon. A few hours later I was on the beach staring at the atlantic ocean, and now I am curled up in a cozy wicker...

Some Things So Good They Must Be Told Twice
I know I’ve posted this before, but in the current moment, it deserves repeating:
Desiderata by Max Ehrman
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have...

What's Good
I am officially one year out of college.
I am rounding third and heading for home, closing in on one year in NYC.
All of this makes me see how quickly time flies, and how much can happen in a comparatively short amount of time.
In spite of having some severe up and downs this year, I’d like to devote a humble moment to what has been good in this adventurous year:
1) Friends. My...
When I Get There...
Airports are so exciting. I feel like a kid everytime I am preparing to fly somewhere… If only for the anticipation of the airports.
Right now I’m sitting in LGA waiting to fly back home to Cincinnati for a short visit before driving up to my second home, Ann Arbor, for some pure and crazy madness- AKA Camp Hogwarts; 2 weeks with some of my closest friends and creative soul mates,...

I ask that we redefine the terms “Soul Mate”.
Ms Tara is a mate to my soul. We’ve taken to writing messages to each other via our blogs, rather than through email or *shudder* FB messages. Scoff as you will, but when we write to each other in our blogs we send an unassuming message with mere hope that the other receives it. Like a message in a bottle. It always sweeps up on...
Beauty is Essential
… woah. Pause. Its been a while. For whatever reason I haven’t been in with blog life lately.
I am profoundly touched tonight by how vital beauty is. I mean beauty on the grandest scale, in essence and spirt, beyond surface vision or appearance.
I’ll be honest, I get embarrassed sometimes by my “deep” musings. I wish I could explain through humor how I feel....

Overheard in My Life
Kid: I want an apple
Me: I can’t get you an apple. I’m a baby, remember? ‘Wah! Wah! Wah! I’m the baby, your the babysitter, do everything for me…’
Kid: If you are the baby, why do you have a phone?
Me: Because… I’m a baby… with a phone…
