On the Brink, No Less

My Internet is down so I’m posting from my phone… I couldn’t wait a moment longer to give this post of gratitude for this closing year, and what’s yet to come.

My view right now is of a bedroom that is a sanctuary… In an apartment that is a sanctuary… In a city that has offered me a new kind of home.

I can remember all too vivid what my view was a year ago. I’m just purely amazed at how much can change in a year. I’m challenged in new and better ways these days. I have a family of amazing friends to do life with; to collaborate with and to love on constantly, and learn to love better (even when they tease me for it!)

2010 was my launching block. It was my year of strength training. My year of lesson-learning. My year of incredible growth.

2011 is going to be my year of gates flying open; time to run… Let my muscles stretch and see what distances I can cross.

If I can share anything with anyone it would be summed up in this: “In the depths of winter I found within myself, an invincible summer”

I’ve been to depths of uncertainty I thought I’d never understand… Darker places that seemed to never end. They did, though. I came out on the other side with a courage and hope for the future… And all with joy.

When it seems it won’t end, it will. And you’ll be stronger for it, and love what comes next!

Here’s to new beginnings if you need them, and new strength for continued journeys if that’s what you need too.
