This is incredibly humbling, believe it or not.  I am so so proud to be a part of this, and so so proud to know so many incredibly talented people- who also happen to be wonderful friends that I love dearly.
I don’t know what will come next.  StarKid has become a journey that we are figuring out as we go.  Nothing can be planned or predicted, but it is way more rewarding and fun that way!
Quite a few years ago I shared a quiet dream with my close friends.  In the way every artist thinks about what they would do if their work got noticed, and what they would say if Oprah sat down to interview them— I told my close friends how I had always secretly dreamed of one day having such a moment.  But in my visioning, that moment was a collective one shared with my closest friends and artistic family.  I always saw myself in the midst of something far greater than I myself could have achieved.  I always saw the reward in the group, not just in my solo endeavors.
The beauty in StarKid, for me, and most of us involved, has been the feeling of a team.  The sense that this was larger than any of us individually.  It was every single hour of work put in by the dozens of workers.  It was the fan’s devotion.  It was just… bigger than one.
The journey of this past year has taught me that all I crave is group work.  It is only fulfilling to me when I am a part of a greater whole.   My only hope is that I will always find my way to these such projects, and that the people I work with will always have similar dreams and hopes.
It just feels better when it is not all about you.
